Here are the major changes from the last newsletter no139.

It is important to mention that this is a summary of the latest changes announced by the RAMQ and that a complete reading of the newsletters is needed for better understanding.

 

Special compensation terms and conditions

You are eligible for compensation if:

  • you are in private practice, in the ER, in the intensive care or coronary care unit of a CHSGS, or in the follow-up of patients admitted for acute or long-term care.
  • you have been in contact with COVID-19 and are no longer able to perform your duties.
  • you can prove that you were exposed to COVID-19 through work or population contact. This addition is effective retroactively to February 28, 2020. For those benefit’s claims, please contact: facturationcovid19@fmoq.org

 

Communication via digital consulting

In the office, and from now on with the mixed mode, code 15894 can be billed in mixed mode for communications with an MD specialist through the secure web-based platform for digital consulting (eConsult).

This change is effective retroactively to December 3, 2020.

You may send us the services affected by those terms.

We have 120 days (about 4 months) from September 21, 2021, to adjust your services.

 

Covid-19 Vaccination and related training

If you claim the $125 hourly rate (billing code 42230), you will now have to calculate it by using 15-minute periods which equals $31.25 per period. If you are taking part in the training for the COVID-19 vaccination, you can claim a $125 hourly rate for the mandatory training period required by the Collège des Médecins du Québec (billing code 42249). The billing of this code works with every 15 minutes that you spend on the training period.

This change is effective retroactively to December 14, 2020.

You have 120 days (about 4 months) from September 25, 2021, to bill for your services or to change your billing retroactive to December 14, 2020.

 

Clinical lead physician for a mass vaccination session

If you are acting as the clinical lead for students and professionals administering the COVID-19 vaccine, you are eligible for an hourly fee (billing code 19682) equivalent to the $186.15 fee (LE 269 Covid fee).

This hourly package can be divided by 15-minute periods for $46.55 per period.

If you are a clinical lead in a mass immunization session, from now on, you must use the code 19682 which replaces billing code 19680 (LE 269 Covid package).
