Here are the important changes from the last RAMQ newsletter 149.

Walk-in visits definition

A “walk-in visit” is defined as “any period in which a physician is assigned to meet the short-term urges of his patients, other physician’s patients or patients without a family doctor’’.
Markers are provided to determine if your service is being provided in a walk-in service:

  • The absence of appointments or/if appointments are obtained on short notice (marker 1);
  • A high proportion of visits for an urgent or semi-urgent medical issue (marker 2);
  • A high proportion of patients who aren’t registered with the physician (marker 3);
  • A significant proportion of problems requiring surgical or radiological intervention, if the setting offers such treatments (marker 4);
  • A low proportion of preventive interventions or longitudinal follow-up of patients’ chronic conditions (marker 5)

Forfait de familiarisation et de gestion du changement (orchestrateur HUB)

This compensation is for you to take the time to familiarize yourself and manage all the changes that are coming your way. If you are on maternity, adoption or disability leave from April 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022, you may qualify for this indemnification (billing code 19966), for the number of weeks you had left to qualify for this package once you’ll return.

”Formation continue” outside Quebec

We remind you that if you attend, in person or via live webcast, to an ongoing training activity held outside of Quebec, organized by a medical organization recognized and accredited by the competent authorities of another province or country, this activity is considered as un ’ressourcement’’ given outside of Quebec. You may develop your skills while training outside Quebec, twice a year, with the prior approval of the ‘’Comité Consultatif sur la Répartition’’. This change is effective since January 1st, 2021.

We are available for any questions.
