We have detected some irregularities in the automatic addition of the #EPUR and #EPMA contextual elements on the acts when you bill for your on-site care or your daily inpatient packages. A few claims during the period from October 5 to 18, 2021 were affected. As of October 19, the situation was corrected and the automatic additions of the contextual elements are compliant. We suggest that you review your billing submitted between October 5 and 18 to ensure that the correct context elements have been applied.
There were two possible situation, even if your claims were correctly applied:
- The claim is invalid, and an error message indicates that #EPUR or #EPMA cannot be applied
- The claim is valid, but #EPUR or #EPMA are not applied to the codes.
In order to update the claim, you will merely have to re-save the claim. The appropriate context elements will be added automatically. If you modify a request in this way, the preliminary amount displayed will then be lower than the amount paid, which is normal since these context elements have the effect of lowering the value of the codes to which they are applied.
The RAMQ may have accepted and paid for the claims, but it is very likely that they will be reassessed within 5 years and ultimately refused.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
